We also love the fact that all the courses that we tour are reachable in an hour from Faro Airport. It allows for a central base where après golf can be enjoyed with good local restaurants and bars and a nightlife, if that is also on the agenda.
NORTH COURSE AT MONTE REI (1st rated course in Portugal)
The golf is fabulous on this Jack Nicklaus designed course, consistently ranked as the best in Portugal. A really lovely course routed through mature woodland and countryside.
The real beauty of this course is that it suits golfers of all abilities with generous fairways and good-sized greens.
The welcome and clubhouse are excellent, and the player facilities world-class. There is a driving range with free balls, a short game practice area and putting green.
SAN LORENZO GOLF COURSE (9th rated course in Portugal)
San Lorenzo opened in 1988 and was one of the leading courses in developing the Algarve as the golfing haven it is today. Currently ranked 9th best course on the Algarve.
There are many memorable holes including our favourite run of four, from the short par 3 5th where the views open up, through the 6th and 7th playing along the oceanfront, and the 8th, a superb par 5 with your approach to the green over water.
The Dona Filipa Hotel is the ideal 19th hole, with a superb pool bar terrace to kick back, rest those limbs, and look forward to Vilamoura tomorrow.
VILAMOURA OLD COURSE (7th rated course in Portugal)
The Dom Pedro owned Vilamoura courses were the first in the world to be environmentally certified ISO 14001. Built in 1969, the Old Course is the original and best of the five courses.
Currently ranked 7th best course in Portugal, it stretches to just under 7000 yds off the back boxes and you will need to hit the fairways off the tees as every hole is tree lined.
In our experience you will always be made to feel very welcome here, with its comfortable clubhouse, friendly staff and golf team, and great service.
LARANJAL GOLF COURSE (13th rated course in Portugal)
The Quinta do Lago estate with its North, South, and Laranjal courses has been a favourite of ours for many years.
It is a real pleasure to play with water features on several holes. Impeccably maintained as we have come to expect with the Quinta courses.
Laranjal was opened in 2008 with a different layout of two returning nines, playing five par 5’s, five par 3’s, and eight par 4’s, an interesting change from the more accepted 4-4-10
Theres always a great welcome, laid-back atmosphere and good hospitality in the clubhouse.

We take care of all your in-country travel requirements when you are touring with us in Portugal.
We work with a partner network providing chauffeured VIP ground transport in the Algarve, we can accommodate 2pax to 32pax.
We can secure the best internally configured private jet for your party, and helicopters for airport and location transfers when required.
We can also assist with your inbound and outbound travel routing if you are connecting from another country, whether that be on scheduled flights or private.
ACCOMMODATION
We work with several regional and resort hotels, situated locally to the courses that we play and we know all our recommended properties from personal experience.
We can also secure exclusive use villas and apartments depending on group numbers and duration of stay.
Exclusive use properties and can be fully staffed and catered or unmanaged if you prefer. They do provide added privacy, and the opportunity to manage your own “off course” agenda.
