PORTUGAL WESTERN ALGARVE GOLF TOURS
This region is a favourite golfing destination of ours and the sea breeze off the Atlantic hits these Western courses more so than it does in Central and Eastern Algarve. The towns of Portimão & Lagos are close to your golf and have excellent traditional Portuguese restaurants and bars.
The golf is fantastic all year round and the three courses we play each provide for a unique experience. Coastal golf at the Palmares course, Penina steeped in history, and Espiche routed through an ecological reserve. This is a great three course tour and we regularly add Boavista just outside Lagos to extend the trip.
PALMARES GOLF COURSE (5th rated course in Portugal)
Widely regarded as the “jewel in the crown of the Algarve”, Palmares has been hosting golfers for over forty-five years and is one of the Algarve’s original and very best courses.
Wonderful Links like holes bordering the Atlantic coastline and park like holes as you rise up from the shoreline.
27 holes on three nines, and whatever your routing, this is a special experience and like no other golf course in Portugal.
With its fantastic new clubhouse the pre and aprés golf experience is excellent.
ESPICHE GOLF COURSE
Espiche, at just under 6500 yds, was created within an ecological nature reserve where the landscape has been left relatively untouched and the course routed naturally through the woodland and wetland areas.
The backdrop to the east is the marvellous Monchique Mountain range.
Sitting on a hilltop the award-winning designed clubhouse in the centre of the course is stunning providing excellent food and service. The views from the top floor over the course are wonderful.

PENINA CHAMPIONSHIP COURSE
Penina, the Sir Henry Cotton designed championship course opened in 1966 and is the original home of golf in the Algarve.
Playing two loops of nine, it is challenging from the back boxes but a real pleasure to play. The par five 5th is a great hole as are the two closing holes on each loop playing to multitiered greens.
The Penina experience oozes its rich golfing history with its classic Mediterranean layout, maybe not as modern as the Quinta trio, although there are new owners with big plans for the courses and resort.

We work with several regional and resort hotels, situated locally to the courses that we play and we know all our recommended properties from personal experience.
We can also secure exclusive use villas and apartments depending on group numbers and duration of stay.
Exclusive use properties and can be fully staffed and catered or unmanaged if you prefer. They do provide added privacy, and the opportunity to manage your own “off course” agenda.
